1 Short Story:
I’d like to say I’m a pretty decent public speaker. I had just finished a speech the week before and I got a standing ovation.
Pretty cool.
As I was preparing to give another speech: “how to shoot a basketball”, I thought,
“I don’t need to practice that much, I know a lot about shooting a basketball and I can just wing it.”
Besides, I had 2 upcoming tests that I had to study for anyway.
What’s the worst that could happen?
Well it turns out, I really did need to rehearse that speech.
There I was, in front of the whole class…
Basketball in one hand…
notecard in the other…
…my whole body felt frozen yet I was sweating profusely.
I had forgotten what I was going to say next.
That’s when I remembered a quote that I read before,
“Humble yourself, or life will do it for you.”
I ended up recovering, making up a few lines and ending my speech.
But I’ll never forget that terrifying feeling of being frozen in front of the whole class.
BONUS - 1 Question:
