#4 Sunday Summary
Gaining clarity, uncontrollables, & how to get rich writing online
3 Quick Lessons:
1. Gain clarity by removing modernity.

2. Go for a walk.

3. LeChatelier’s Principle.
If a stress is put on a system in equilibrium, the system attempts to counteract that stress by applying opposite force.
This principle can be applied to mans social complex as well as the economic systems as well.
This principle is very similar to ‘Yin and Yang’.
2 Cool Quotes:
“Any person capable of angering you becomes your master.” - Epictetus
2. “There is only one way to happiness and that is to cease worrying about things which are beyond the power of our will.” - Epictetus

1 Short Story: The Lunch Lady Effect
I’ll be honest, I’ve never had many positive experiences with lunch ladies.
They were always rude and had short patience.
But Tuesday was different…
I’m barely moving, slowly dragging my feet across the hard tile floor.
It’s 11:15 am. Lunch time.
I finally made it to the back of the long line in the cafeteria, there I am patiently waiting for my food.
Here goes yet another day I thought.
Slowly but surely, the line creeps forward and I’m at the front of the line.
I grab a tray, turkey sandwich, and a juice box and head to the cash register.
Now usually, this is where I encounter the usually irritated lunch lady, but today…
It was a new lady.
She gave me a warm smile and asked, “Would you like some mustard?”
*Yes I like mustard*
I said, “Yes please!” and she handed me 2 packets.
I scanned my card, and proceeded to walk to my table.
That’s when it happened.
Now, I’ve learned about what it means to be an energy giver, and how a small act of kindness can go a long way, but I never expected it to happen to me.
She smiled, and said “Have a great day Jay!”
Now here’s the crazy part.
I never told her my name.
Which means she must’ve went out of her way to read my school ID when I scanned my card and then purposefully used my name. 🤯
It gets crazier!
Not only did her small at of kindness make my day, but I stayed near the register to wait for my friend, and she used his name too!
She was slowly shaping the culture and environment of my school.
All it took was a simple smile and the use of someone’s name to snap me out of my funk.
Which leads me to my question for you…
What’s one small thing you can do, to positively shape your environment?
